The President of FarmHouse Fraternity presides over all meetings, and enforces discipline and the observance of the constitution and bylaws. The President of FarmHouse Fraternity has the power to decide all questions of order, and can exercise the right of franchise in cases of ties. The President can appoint all committees not otherwise provided for. The President can call special meetings as provided in the Constitution. The President of FarmHouse Fraternity has the responsibility to be a voting member on the Alumni Association Board and act as the spokesman for the entire fraternity, and the Interfraternity Council and IFC President’s Council.

The Vice President has the power to coordinate all the programs and activities of the chapter including chapter education and development programs, which includes risk management planning and education. The Vice President also has the power to initiate programs and involve men in the planning of new programs. The Vice President must keep members of FarmHouse Fraternity informed of currently available campus positions and counsel men interested in campus activities. The Vice President has the power to appoint members to the various committees, and also is the house’s liaison with IFC. During the absence of the President, the Vice President is the presiding officer, and will stand in for the President whenever necessary.

The Business Manager of FarmHouse Fraternity has the power to make or authorize all purchases for the chapter, to employ all help needed, and render a report at the call of the President. The Business Manager also is responsible for the maintenance of the house and grounds, which includes the power to assign members with duties and room assignments. The Business Manager will serve as the presiding officer in the absence of both the President and the Vice President, and has the responsibility to be a voting member of the Alumni Association Board.

The Assistant Business Manager will assist the business manager, and supervise new members in their work duties. The Assistant Business manager will usually become the Business Manager after his semester as Assistant Business Manager is finished.

The Treasurer of FarmHouse Fraternity receives all funds of the chapter and is in charge of taking care of all expenses incurred by the chapter. The Treasurer also works with the Business Manager and the Assistant Treasurer to prepare a yearly budget to be approved by the chapter. The Treasurer also files the tax report for the chapter.

The Assistant Treasurer is in charge of announcing and recording fines, and assists the Treasurer. The Assistant Treasurer will generally become the Treasurer after his semester as Assistant Treasurer.

The Alumni Director of FarmHouse Fraternity has the responsibility to maintain contact with alumni, to plan and prepare alumni activities. i.e., Annual Meeting, Founder’s Day, Homecoming. The Alumni Director is responsible for publishing and mailing the chapter newsletter once during his term, and for submitting chapter news to such publications as the Iowa State Daily and Pearls and Rubies. The Alumni Director is also responsible for maintaining an up-to-date alumni file and notifying the International Office of any address changes received.

The Assistant Alumni Director has the responsibility to assist the Alumni Director in all matters, especially in organizing and directing the members of the alumni committee. The Assistant Alumni Director also has to write and e-mail the monthly on-line newsletter, Lanthus. Upon completing his term he will generally become the Alumni Director.

Recruitment Chair
The Recruitment Chairman of FarmHouse Fraternity is responsible for contacting and gathering information on prospective members, and to keep a database of potential new members. He is also in charge of recruitment activities. The Recruitment Chairman also lives in the house in the summer to organize summer recruitment.

The Assistant Recruitment Chairman also lives in the chapter house over the summer to assist with recruitment, and upon the completion of his term, generally becomes the Recruitment Chairman.

The Scholarship Chairman designs and implements a scholarship program, and encourages members to maintain a high GPA through study. The Scholarship chairman also assists members with academic issues. i.e., tutors, study help, majors.

The Secretary of FarmHouse Fraternity has the responsibility to keep a correct record of all proceedings of the chapter meetings and executive council meetings. The Secretary all maintains the chapter membership register/roster, and clears all official correspondence, and maintains a complete file of all official correspondence. The Secretary also prepares and sends chapter correspondence, and also sends to the International Office the required reports together with remittance of the international fees. The Secretary also makes approved changes to the by-laws and e-mails a copy to all members. Finally the Secretary assists the President with secretarial duties.
